Zoe McKenzie

A native of San Antonio, Zoe McKenzie began studying piano at the age of 8 and quickly discovered her deep passion for music. Over the years, her musical journey has expanded to include voice, dance, musical theater, and violin. At just 15, she began teaching piano to fund her violin studies, which she pursued starting at age 16. This early teaching experience played a pivotal role in shaping her career and led her to study under Dr. Ilka Araujo at Texas Wesleyan University. Zoe graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.

Since 2016, Zoe has been a dedicated private music instructor in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. From 2019 to 2025, she served as a piano instructor and theory coordinator at the Fort Worth Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts before joining the faculty at Parker Piano Studios. Her commitment to pedagogical excellence is reflected in her dual certifications from the Royal Conservatory of Music, one of which enabled her to help pioneer the Smart Start early childhood music program in DFW.

Zoe is an active performer, most recently appearing in the 2025 Fort Worth Music Teachers Association Duo Piano Competition, the Texas Wesleyan Alumni event, and the Prelude Festival. She continues to play violin as a secondary instrument, having performed with the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra and currently participating in local chamber ensembles and string groups. She also occasionally teaches with the Arco Chamber Music organization.

A committed member of the Fort Worth Music Teachers Association, Zoe has held several leadership roles, including chair of the Fall Festival (2020–2021), coordinator of the Open Recital series (since 2021), and, most recently, ensemble coach for their Local Ensemble group (2025).

In addition to teaching and performing, Zoe enjoys arranging and accompanying for her students and church community. She has been happily married since 2023 and remains passionate about refining both her musicianship and teaching practice.
